Treatment for Warts / Corns
Self treatment of wart removal is generally not recommended for any kinds of warts or corns. Board Certified Dermatologist, Debra Jaliman, MD has successfully treated hundreds of patients at her Manhattan, New York office for warts or corns.
Common warts or corns can be treated by “painting” with cantharidin by a dermatologist. Cantharidin causes a blister to form under the wart or corn. The dermatologist then can clip away the dead part of the wart or corn on the blister roof in a week or so.
For adults and older children a treatment called cryotherapy (freezing) is the treatment of choice. This treatment is not painful and rarely results in scarring. Several repeated treatments at one to three weeks intervals may necessary depending on the severity of your case.
Another kind of treatment called Electrosurgery (burning) is another good alternative to remove your wart or corn. Laser treatment is also available and can also be used for resistant warts that have not responded to other kinds of treatments.
