Many people don’t realize that the sun can wreak as much havoc on their hair as their skin. “The UV light damages your hair,” said Dr. Debra Jaliman, a New York dermatologist and author of “Skin Rules.” “It breaks the chemical bonds, which causes split ends and makes hair more susceptible to breakage.” David Lopez, a hairstylist in New York who has worked with many celebrities, said that sun exposure can also lead to “dryness, frizz and even cause hair color to fade if you dye it.”
