Lyra Laser

Lyra Laser is used by the Manhattan, New York cosmetic dermatologist for hair removal, blood vessels, and leg veins.

Lyra Laser is available every Wednesday starting at 8am.

The Lyra Laser is leading state of the art technology developed to treat vascular lesions and to remove unwanted hair. The Lyra Laser utilizes the longest available wavelength and an Extended Duration Pulse that provides optimal results with the least amount of patient discomfort and shortest recuperation time. It is a revolutionary treatment that is FDA approved for all skin type offering the unique ability to treat tanned and darker pigmented skin.

For Hair Removal

What areas are treatable?
Any area can by treated with the Lyra Laser except the eyebrows.

What color skin is treatable?
The Lyra Laser is FDA approved for all types of skin. IT is the safest and most effective laser for patients with tanned skin and for patients with darker complexions. Please be advised that if your hair is blonde or gray the Lyra Laser will not work.

Will the Lyra Laser hurt?
The Lyra Laser is designed with a cooling module that minimizes the sensation of heat and patient discomfort. Emla/Ela-Max 5%, an anesthetic cream is applied for one hour prior to the procedure if needed.

What should you do before the Lyra Hair Removal Laser?
Shave areas to be treated 24 hours before procedure. Do not wax, use a depilatory, or pluck the area for 4 to 6 weeks before the procedure.

For Blood Vessels

What will it look like after the procedure?
There are no marks and no scabbing. There may be slight redness for a day or two.

Can I go in the sun after the procedure?
Keep moist by applying our facial moisturizer or any fragrance free moisturizer until healed. You may shower but do not take hot showers for two days. Please refer to the post ®operative instructions for further details.

How many treatments are required?
Please not the number of sessions differ depending on the individual. There is at least a 90% decrease in hair growth. People with hormonal imbalances or very dense hair follicles may require more treatments. Vascular lesions may require additional treatments. Hormonal changes may also increase the reappearance of treated vessels.
